UG/PG Credit Transfer

Principle Institute of Management & Technology offers UG / PG Credit Transfer.

What is UG/PG Credit Transfer

The UG PG Credit Transfer concept involves the transfer of credit from one university to another, more often than not, from an Undergraduate (UG) programme to a Post Graduate (PG) programme in the same University. Many students consider the UG/PG Credit Transfer option to skip their final year(s) of study and go directly into the workforce or pursue higher studies in another field of their interest without repeating the courses they have already studied or taking up UG courses that are irrelevant to their new field of interest. But what are the advantages of this approach?

The credit transfer program is designed for students to get their graduation on time. This program allows you to obtain your degree in less number of semesters. This means, a student from a master’s program can take 1 year from his course and go into a bachelor’s level and study another two years to earn his or her bachelor’s degree. Whereas, without credit transfer, you would have taken 3 years instead of 2 if you had done your bachelor’s first and then gone on to do your master’s.

Eligibility

Only candidates who have completed a minimum of one year (two semesters) of study in graduate or postgraduate courses are eligible for credit transfer. If you have completed more than two years of study in any stream, you are ineligible for credit transfer. You may also submit your application if you haven’t completed a degree before, but it will only be considered if your current grade is at least 50% and above.

Foreign qualifications do not qualify for credit transfer. However, an admission counselor will review your documents to see if they can be counted towards fulfillment of UG requirements that students need to complete their degree. For example, some foreign educational institutions award course credits by semester; however, our system divides degrees into terms rather than semester units.
